Chondroitin sulfate, chemical structure (C14H19NO14Sna2)n, is a kind of mucopolysaccharide sodium salt extracted from cartilage of healthy animals (cow, pig and bird etc.). It is mainly made of polymer N-acetylchondrosamine and D-glucoromicacid.

As raw material of healthcare medicine and cosmetics, chondroitin sulfate is of excellent anti-aging function and can be applied as additive in cosmetics and apparatus. It is applicable in therapy of nervous headache, neuralgia, arthralgia, hemicrania, arteriosclerosis etc. and auxiliary therapy of hearing disorder and hepatitis etc. caused by streptomycin.
